12/4/17 Em’s Weekend Recap
This weekend in entertainment and local news has been successful in some aspects and failures in others. Today, we are going to take a look at the newest updates in movies, music, local stories and all things Pendleton.
This past weekend has been successful for certain movies, but a failure to others. “Justice League” came out a few weeks ago now, but the new box office estimates are in and they are WAY below expected. The film was estimated to make $1 billion, but that outcome is not likely to happen considering they are $400 million below the estimate. In contrast, “Wonder” continues to sell extremely well and is predicted to be this year’s “The Blind Side,” according to Forbes.com. If you want to read the Forbes article, you can do so here. In new movies, the “Avengers: Infinity War” trailer was recently released and it looks like the movie will be a hit. Yet to see the trailer? Watch it here.
Entertainment and Music:
In entertainment news this past weekend, Taylor Swift was announced as the British Vogue’s January cover star. Also, fans of Meek Mill may be discouraged to know that he has been denied bail and is seen as a “danger to the community.”
In music the Billboard Top 100 has released this week’s rankings, the top 10 being “Rockstar” by Post Malone at the number 1 spot, followed by “Havana” by Camila Cabello, “Gucci Gang” by Lil Pump, “Thunder” by Imagine Dragons, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, “Bodak Yellow” by Cardi B, “Too Good at Goodbyes” by Sam Smith, “Feel it Still” by Portugal the Man, “Sorry not Sorry” by Demi Lovato, and at number 10 is “What Lovers Do” by Maroon 5.
In local news, local Indiana law may be passing a legislation that would make it harder for immigrants to get their licenses. Also, Anderson residents believe that there is a person mutilating dogs with weapons such as hedge clippers, but the police don’t agree because they don’t have enough substantial evidence.
