91.7 WEEM prides itself on being one of the top high school radio stations in the nation. Recognized by publications like the Indianapolis Star, Nuvo, INTake Weekly and radio trade publication CMJ, 91.7 WEEM has developed a world-class radio station run by Pendleton Heights High School students!

Last year, Pendleton Heights High School student broadcasters competed in the Indiana Association of Student Broadcasters state competition, interviewed bands from across the world, broadcast local events such as the Pendleton Heritage Fair and Pendleton Christmas Parade, and covered over 100 athletic events.

In October 2006, 917weem.org was launched. Included on the website are pictures and audio of in-studio appearances and sports broadcasts. Among the many accomplishments during the past year, one of our proudest moments was helping to promote the Rock For Riley concert series to raise money for Riley Children’s Hospital.

Donations by families in and around the South Madison community help ensure that 91.7 WEEM maintains its outstanding coverage of Pendleton Heights athletics, area
events, and in-studio performances.


Through the generosity of our donors, Pendleton Heights and 91.7 WEEM can provide the community with coverage of local events, sports, new music, and provide special public programming.

In the past year, donations have been used for purchasing a live mixing board, professional microphones, recording equipment and software, a staff refrigerator, year-end student awards, promotional items, and general operating expenses like mileage and phone lines!

The purchase of much of this equipment has allowed us to partner with SIRIUS Satellite Radio and MyOldKentuckyBlog.com for our new in-studio series, “Live Lounge”, which airs Sundays at 3pm.

For your support, your name(s) will be read in rotating announcements hourly and in every sports broadcast. The 2008-09 donors had over 1,200 mentions each! The South Madison community is served well with award winning, quality student broadcasting. Please support 91.7 WEEM in our goal to bring the best radio to our community.
